For the most effective Coaching session, be sure you are in a quiet, private area where you can talk with your Coach, with as few distractions as possible. Use earbuds or earphones, too, if you feel necessary!
Before Your First Coaching Session (likely mid-September to late October)
- By Sept. 15: Complete the online ValueAble Leader Project assessment (~15 minutes; see below for full details). Complete the "Exploring My Values" exercise. Be sure to record your final results, and be prepared to discuss the process of sorting your values, why these are important to you, and how you have seen them play out (or hope to see them play out) over the course of your college career.
- At least 48 hours prior to your first Coaching session: Download and complete the Social Identity Mapping exercise (~15 minutes). Have this document with you during your Coaching session for reference!
- Share both outcomes with your Coach via email 24-48 hours prior to Session 1.
In Session 1
Your first Coaching session will focus on establishing rapport and expectations between you and your Coach, primarily through a discussion of the Social Identity Mapping exercise and the results of the ValueAble assessment (again, have both on hand during your session!).
What is a ValueAble Leader?
ValueAble leaders can identify and articulate their values. They understand how to recognize and honor others’ values. They make life choices and leadership choices that align with their values.
The ValueAble Leader Project is designed to help emerging leaders identify their values and practice these values so they can make a positive difference in themselves and in the world around them.
Coke Scholars Coachees will complete this online exercise to provide the opportunity to develop clarity about the values that act as motivators for achieving your success and personal fulfillment.
To complete the ValueAble Project assessment:

- Click the "Exploring My Values" bar to complete exercise.
- Once completed, save your results (save/exportprint as a PDF, write them down, or take a photo of the screen for your records and reference).
- Share these top values with your Coach ahead of Session 1
