Download the Guidebook App on Your Phone
This is a must do!
We will use the app Guidebook for the Weekend program. All Scholars are expected to download Guidebook, particularly in the case of changes of schedule or emergency communications. Guidebook will be a vital tool throughout your time in Atlanta.
The weekend schedule and so many Scholarly faces and bios are waiting inside - both of your fellow 2024 Coke Scholars and the Scholar alumni who will be faciliating your Leadership Development Institute experience.
To download the Scholars Weekend Guidebook App:
- Download Guidebook from your provider's app store and open the app
- At the bottom right, select "Find Guides"
- Towards the bottom, select the blue box "Have a passphrase?"
- Enter the passphrase "2024cokescholars" and select "Continue"
- When the "2024 Coca-Cola Scholars Weekend" guide pops up, select "Download"
- Once you have opened the guide, use the menu in the upper left corner to explore
Wear Your Coke Scholars Shirt
On your day of travel, wear your Coke Scholars shirt that will arrive this week so we can easily spot you in the airport. (If your shirt did not arrive or does not fit, plan to wear your reddest shirt!)
Flying to Atlanta and Getting to the Hotel
NOTE: The airfare purchased for you includes a carry-on allowance; carry-on luggage should be ample for your visit to Atlanta. If you choose to check a bag, you are responsible for paying checked-bag fees.
If you encounter any trouble with your flight (like a delay or cancellation), you may call our travel agency, Carlson-Wagonlit, at 651-406-6607. The Reference Code for Coke Scholars is 5VT9 - RH817219. (This information is also printed on the travel itinerary you received earlier via email.) It is likely they will call/text you as well, as they will be monitoring your flights. Keep an eye on your phone during your travels.
You may also contact our on-site logistics pro Christine Lawry at 404-275-0600 after contacting Carlson-Wagonlit.
Once you arrive in Atlanta, follow the signs to baggage claim, which may include riding the Plane Train, a people-mover inside of the airport that takes passengers from their concourse to baggage claim.
After departing the train, you'll ride a tall escalator up to where Coca-Cola hosts will be waiting for you, and they will bring you (and likely several other new Scholars) to the Hilton hotel.
If Driving to Atlanta
If your parents or guardians are driving you, follow the driving instructions in Guidebook and have them drop you off at the lobby of the Hilton Atlanta Airport any time on Thursday, April 25, before 12 p.m. (noon). You will need to be picked up from the hotel by 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 28.
If you are driving yourself, self-park in the parking lot. Go into the hotel, and find the Coke Scholars Hospitality Room, which is the Ballroom located on the firstfloor. DO NOT CHECK IN AT THE FRONT DESK! We will have your keys for you. You will need to depart from the hotel by 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 28.
NO LATE CHECK OUTS. NO HANGING OUT IN THE LOBBY until a 2 pm ride can pick you up. Staff cannot leave until the last Scholar does.
The hotel is located at 1031 Virginia Avenue, Hapeville, GA 30354.

Room Pairings and LDI Units
Click here to download a spreadsheet that shows room/roommate assignments (on tab 1) and your LDI Unit/Subunit assignments (on tab 2).
- Room assignments were made based on a combination of arrival and departure times, special requests/accomodations/requirements, and other factors. We are unable to make changes to the roommate assignments.
- We ask that all roommate pairings are courteous and respectful of each other while in the room (ie, minimize loud talking and high-volume/loud phone use, lights during the much-needed sleep time, etc.).
Educator of Distinction Awards
Before you depart Atlanta, we will give you 2 certificates (one your Scholar award certificate, one the certificate for your Educator of Distinction, IF YOU DESIGNATED ONE) as well as a small gift for the EOD recipient.
- The presentation of the Scholar certificate may be made by a school official to you. Typically, Scholars are able to coordinate this presentation as part of any senior awards event at their school.
- The presentation of the EOD certificate and gift should be made BY YOU, the Scholar. This is also often included during any senior awards event at a Scholar's school. Contact the person at your school about the possibility of one or both of these to be presented during a scheduled event. For Scholars in the past unable to present their EOD during a senior event, they have presented during a class period or created a clever way to present separately. The sky's the limit (one year, a Scholar created a robot that drove it from the parking lot into the school and into the classroom).
- Download here template language that may be adapted in presenting both recognitions.
- There is not a person from Coca-Cola scheduled to attend any senior event. We request the senior event info so that we can keep an eye on the dates for any social media posts.
